Position Overview The Fastening Engineer is responsible for working with Product Engineering to define torque standards, define torque tooling requirements and support new vehicle launches as the subject matter expert for plant on all fastening related projects and issues. The Fastening Engineer develops dynamic torque tooling solutions and drives torque data collection and standard launch activities in the plant. This position works with vendors to define torque tooling and write specifications to suppliers to procure tooling and implement for new vehicle launches as well as manages projects involving torque tool installations. He/she will plan and conduct all aspects of tooling installation including time lines, procurement, design and specification and implementation. They will also schedule, plan, monitor and report out activities and key performance indicators.
