The project:
As a research assistant, you will support the joint project NA-WIR (New Medicinal Plants and Active Ingredients from Saxony-Anhalt), which deals with the establishment of rosemary, sage and Chinese nettle in the Central German
cultivation area. Different origins are to be characterised for specific constituents and tested for suitability over a number of years. NIRS will also be used to determine the current status of plant metabolites in the field. For higher added value, interesting ingredients are to be converted into active substances by means of biotransformation and used in biotests. The practical work will be carried out at the Julius Kühn Institute in Quedlinburg and at the Leibniz Institute of Plant
Biochemistry in Halle. Your responsibilities:

planning, establishment, supervision and sampling of field and greenhouse trials; molecular biology work (DNA and RNA isolation, PCR, cloning, sequencing);
