Nootka Sound Services is currently seeking a full-time, year round Mate to start immediately:

The Uchuck III out of Gold River, BC has a long history of service in the Nootka Sound as well as the Esperanza and Kyuquot Sounds. The daily routine consists of cargo loading and unloading, normal ship maintenance and interacting with ship’s passengers. The Uchuck works year round delivering cargo to camps, lodges and communities and also has an exciting tourist season as well. People from around the world come to sail the historic sound where Captain James Cook first arrived in North America. As a 1942 built wooden vessel, dry-dock and refit time is an amazing learning experience and the type and tonnage of the sea time is valuable and abundant. The winter work week is 4 days of approximately 10 hrs, ramping up to 5 days for the tourism season.
