Main purpose of the job:

Responsible for maintaining Aluminium Extrusion Dies.

Preferred Experience:

Engineering background and a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a qualified Die Corrector in Aluminium extrusion process will be an advantage. Must be able to read, understand section and die design drawings. Be able to use die correcting tools, operate a milling machine and work with measuring equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent. Recognition of prior learning (experience) will also be considered.

Primary Duties:

• Read section drawings and design drawings.

• Extrusion dies to be corrected according to customer specifications and requirements.

• Inspect new dies and ensure that they are made according to the design.

• Organise and run trails.

• Must be able to help at the presses to set-up and run problem dies.

• Manage nitriding schedule.

• Control the press schedule and ensure that problem and late dies complete their orders timeously.
