Under the overall supervision of the Operations Manager and
reporting to the Chief Pilot, the Aircraft Pilot 2 will act as a Pilot-in-Command (PIC) responsible for the safe and efficient operation of department aircraft.

Primary Accountabilities

Mission profiles include, but are not limited to, aerial reconnaissance and surveys, wildfire suppression, forest and wildlife management, enforcement, executive transport, and inland search and rescue. The Aircraft Pilot 2 will be required to closely interact with the Emergency Management Office (EMO), the RCMP, and other police agencies.

The applicant must be able to act as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) in a single-crew environment.

The Aircraft Pilot 2 will be responsible for all phases of the helicopter flight. This includes pre-flight planning such as weather interpretation, weight and balance computations, and safety briefings.
