The Medical Officer in Sierra Leone is a combination of leadership, advocacy and clinical care position. This role entails day-to-day operations, quality assurance and decision-making in liaison with appropriate team members.

S/He oversees activities of clinical teams at Connaught and Kissy UMC Clinics and ensures that the teams meet regularly. S/he ensures that staff adhere to and operate according to set national and international standards

S/He provides clinical care in conjunction with other team members and ensures provision of high-quality care and service delivery at the clinics

The Medical Officer directly supervises up-to 20 staff (medical and support staff). He/she carries out supervisory responsibilities, mentoring and training, planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
