Job Description Instructional Aide - Bilingual Definition Under the general supervision of a classroom teacher or learning specialist and/or the direction of a school principal, to assist, tutor and train English Language Learners individually or in groups in a classroom or similar learning environment, following a prescribed course of study; to oversee and supervise students; to perform clerical and paraprofessional work both outside and inside the classroom; to translate written materials at school or at parent meetings; to do related work as required. Examples of Duties and Responsibilities Assist the teacher in translation of material from English to Spanish; work with English Language Learners; provide an extension of the teachers lessons to English Learners; assist teacher with parent contacts either at conferences, by telephone, or in-home visits; assists with the preparation for meetings related to the English Language Learner program and may translate at such meetings...
