Packaging Machine Operator – Food Packaging

As per the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE), standard contracts for packing staff in 2026 specify a salary range of AED 1,500 to AED 2,500 per month including basic pay and housing allowance. Overtime pay is calculated at 125% of the hourly rate for hours exceeding 8 per day. All salaries must be paid via the Wage Protection System (WPS) by the 7th of each month.

International applicants for packing staff jobs require an employer-sponsored work permit from MOHRE valid for 60 days, followed by a 3-year residence visa processed via ICP. The employer covers visa fees of AED 300-500 and must apply online through the MOHRE portal within 30 days of job offer. No self-sponsorship is allowed for this role.

MOHRE classifies packing staff as semi-skilled labour requiring no formal education or prior experience for entry-level positions as of 2026. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and pass a basic medical fitness test costing AED 350. On-the-job training is provided by employers per Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021.

Required documents include a valid passport copy valid for 6 months, 4 passport photos, attested educational certificates if any, and a job offer letter from a MOHRE-registered employer. Medical fitness certificate from an approved UAE clinic and police clearance from home country must be submitted within 60 days of arrival. The full process costs AED 200-400 in fees.
