Job Description
An Argon Welder and Fabricator (primarily TIG/GTAW) cuts, shapes, and joins metal components—specifically stainless steel, aluminum, or specialized alloys—using argon gas shielding to create high-precision, clean welds. They interpret blueprints, operate fabrication machinery (saws, grinders), and ensure structural integrity while adhering to safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities
• Precision Welding: Perform high-quality TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding using argon shielding to join metal parts, often in challenging positions (vertical, overhead).
• Fabrication & Assembly: Cut, shape, and fit metal components according to engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Metal Preparation: Grind, sand, and clean metal surfaces prior to welding and finish parts after welding to meet quality standards.
• Quality Inspection: Inspect welds for flaws, verify dimensions using calipers/rulers, and perform QC checks.
• Machine Operation: Use specialized machinery such as saws, shearers, and plasma cutters, as well as maintaining welding equipment.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols, including wearing protective gear, maintaining a clean workspace, and proper handling of gas tanks.

Requirements and Qualifications
• Experience: Usually 2+ years of experience in welding and metal fabrication, often within manufacturing or specialized industries (e.g., stainless steel, sculptures & artworks).
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in TIG welding (Argon) is mandatory; knowledge of MIG and Stick welding is often a plus.
• Technical Drawing Reading: Ability to read and interpret blue prints, welding symbols, and schematics.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy materials, stand for long periods, and work in tight spaces.
