Welder positions in Manama

As per the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), welders classified under Category 3 skilled occupations require a minimum salary of BHD 350 per month for work permit approval as of 2026. This salary must be stated in the employment contract submitted via the Expat Management System (EMS). Experienced welders typically earn BHD 550 to BHD 750 monthly including allowances.

A Bahraini employer must apply for a work permit through LMRA EMS at BHD 200 for 2 years validity, requiring employer registration and job vacancy approval. Upon approval, the welder applies for a 1-month employment visa at Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) for BHD 50. A 1-year residence permit follows at BHD 300 after medical screening.

LMRA mandates for Category 3 welder positions a high school diploma or vocational welding certificate plus minimum 2 years documented experience as of 2026. Applicants aged 21-60 qualify, with attested documents required. Additional certifications like AWS boost employability in industrial sectors.

Employers submit passport copy, attested educational/experience certificates, CV, medical fitness report (BHD 35 fee), police clearance, and signed contract to LMRA EMS. Processing completes in 5 working days if complete. The welder then undergoes Bahrain medical exam and fingerprinting for residence permit.
