Associate Packing

As per the Office of Chief Labour Commissioner, the minimum wage for unskilled workers including packing jobs in Zone I is Rs. 1,200 per day or Rs. 31,200 per month based on 26 working days as revised effective 1 April 2026. This applies to central sphere scheduled employments like loading and unloading relevant to packing. Overtime beyond 9 hours per day is paid at twice the ordinary rate.

No minimum education or formal qualification is required for unskilled packing jobs as per National Career Service guidelines. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and physically capable of lifting 20-30 kg loads during 8-hour shifts. Prior experience is not mandatory, with on-the-job training provided in most factories.

Mandatory documents include Aadhaar card for identity, PAN card for tax, bank account details for salary, and two passport-size photos. Educational certificates like 10th pass are optional but preferred. Register on NCS portal with these for verified factory job listings.

Under the Factories Act 1948, packing workers can work maximum 48 hours per week or 9 hours per day. Annual leave is 12 days after 240 workdays, plus 7 days casual leave and 14 days sick leave annually. Overtime is compensated at double the ordinary wage rate for excess hours.
