Plumber positions in Muscat

As per the Ministry of Labour, the minimum basic wage for Omani nationals in the private sector, including plumbers, is OMR 400 per month as of Royal Decree 35/2022 effective through 2026. This excludes allowances like housing (up to OMR 200) and transport (OMR 100), bringing total minimum to OMR 700. Overtime is paid at 125% of hourly rate for first 8 hours, 150% thereafter.

Foreign plumbers need employer sponsorship for a work visa; the Ministry requires a job offer, skill test pass, and medical fitness certificate. Visa processing takes 5-10 working days via MOL portal, costing OMR 20 application fee plus OMR 10/month levy. Visa is valid for 2 years, renewable.

Plumbers need at least ITI diploma in plumbing or 3 years equivalent experience, certified by Technical and Vocational Training Authority. Omanis require 18+ age; expatriates must have 2+ years experience verified by home country authority. No bachelor's degree needed for entry-level roles.

Required documents include passport copy, attested educational certificates, experience letters, police clearance, and medical report from approved clinic (cost OMR 30). Submit via MOL e-service portal with employer; approval in 7 days. Application fee is OMR 50 for work permit.
