Job Description
Description: The Driver Manager supports company drivers and Dispatch by providing a communication link between Planners, Operations, and drivers. The Driver Manager’s focus is on helping drivers manage their hours of service (HOS) and deliver on time. The Driver Manager will be in constant contact with the driver as they help resolve issues from status updates to changing pickup/delivery appointments and other items. Driver Manager also checks load sheets for accuracy and coordinates with driver HOS to ensure schedules can be met, working to find resolutions and adjust load sheets when problems are identified. Essential Functions: · Communicate with drivers, planners, supervisors, other departments, and customers in writing (e-mails & texts) and verbally (phone & face-to-face). · Help drivers and planners be successful. · Provide exceptional customer service in all interactions. · Review all load sheets for complete and accurate information. · Calculate HOS of assigned driver to ensure load schedule can be met. · Identify potential problems before they become problems and work to identify solutions, providing notifications of changes to proper personnel where necessary. · Answer inquiries and/or refer to proper personnel. · Coordinate services for drivers when necessary (example: arrange hotel room and coordinate breakdown/repair information with Fleet Management & customers. · Know, understand, and operate various software programs required to perform assigned duties (example: Word, Samsara, Express Online, Electronic Funds Source (EFS, & others). · Operate multi-line phone system, calculator, computer, laptop, and/or tablet. · Issue EFS funds. · Take on-call duty phone for after hours and weekends if needed. · Maintain a positive attitude. · Act professionally. · Other duties as assigned. Qualifications - Minimum · Basic knowledge of Word. · Basic knowledge of math (addition, multiplication). · High School Diploma or GED. Qualifications - Preferred · Knowledge of these or similar industry software applications: Samsara, Express Online, EFS, Truck Stop, etc.
