SMAW WELDER

As per the Department of Labor and Employment, the minimum wage for welders in the National Capital Region is PHP 610 per day as of Wage Order No. NCR-25 effective January 2026. Welders receive an additional PHP 92.50 daily cost-of-living allowance when working in non-agricultural establishments with 10 or more workers.

As per TESDA guidelines referenced by DOLE, applicants need at least a high school diploma plus completion of a 6-month Welding NC II course and 1 year of documented work experience. Certification must be obtained before 2026 hiring cycles begin in January.

Applicants must submit a valid passport or Philippine ID, TESDA Welding NC II certificate, NBI clearance issued within 6 months, and a medical certificate from a DOLE-accredited clinic as of February 2026. All documents require original copies plus two photocopies submitted at the nearest Public Employment Service Office.

DOLE mandates 8 regular working hours per day and 6 days per week with overtime paid at 125% of the daily rate after 8 hours. Welders are entitled to 5 days of service incentive leave after 1 year of service plus 13th month pay calculated at PHP 18,300 minimum for qualified workers.
