Efficient light driver in qatar - transport & deliveries

As per the Ministry of Labour's Cabinet Resolution No. 13 of 2017, the minimum recruitable wage for expatriate workers including drivers from specified countries is QAR 1,000 per month, plus employer-provided accommodation and food allowance. This policy remains in effect in 2026 for new private sector contracts. All wages must be disbursed monthly through the Wage Protection System.

Foreign drivers need a job offer from a Qatari sponsor to obtain a work permit from the Ministry of Labour, valid for 6 months initially, followed by a renewable residence permit from the Ministry of Interior valid for 1-2 years. The process requires employer submission of a job order costing QAR 300. Medical fitness certificate and police clearance are mandatory before issuance.

No minimum education is required for light vehicle driver roles, but applicants must hold a valid Category 3 driving license equivalent and at least 2 years of verifiable driving experience. For heavy vehicle drivers, 3 years experience with Category 4 or 5 license is mandatory. Qatari equivalency test and medical exam are required upon arrival.

Required documents include passport copy valid for 6 months, 4 passport photos, attested educational certificates if any, driving license with experience proof, and medical report. Employer submits these to Ministry of Labour for job order approval within 5 working days. Contract must specify salary, hours, and end-of-service benefits before work permit issuance.
