As per the Ministry of Labour, the minimum basic wage for unskilled private sector workers including packing jobs is QAR 1,000 per month as of 2026. Employers must provide accommodation valued at minimum QAR 500 monthly or equivalent allowance, plus food allowance of QAR 300. Wages are paid via the Wage Protection System by the 8th of each month.

Foreign workers for packing jobs need a Work Residence Permit (WRP) sponsored by a Qatar employer, valid initially for 1 year and renewable up to 5 years as of 2026. The employer applies through the MOL portal within 30 days of entry on a visit visa. Issuance fee is QAR 200 paid by employer.

Packing jobs require no formal education or degree, but applicants must be aged 18-60 with at least 6 months relevant warehouse experience as of 2026. A medical fitness certificate from an approved clinic is mandatory before work permit issuance. Qatar prioritizes skilled workers under National Manpower Law.

Required documents include a valid passport (minimum 6 months validity), 6 passport photos, attested academic/experience certificates, and employer offer letter as of 2026. Medical examination report from GAMCA-approved center and police clearance are also submitted via MOL online portal. Processing takes 5-7 working days.
