Mini Bus Drivers

As per the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, the minimum wage for Saudi nationals in driver jobs in the private sector is SAR 4,000 per month as of 2026. This wage is set by Royal Decree M/52 dated 21/8/1441 AH and applies uniformly to all private sector roles including drivers. Overtime pay is 150% of the regular hourly rate.

Foreigners require a work visa sponsored by an employer registered on Qiwa, valid for up to 2 years and renewable, as per HRSD guidelines effective 2026. The employer must prove no suitable Saudi candidate exists under Nitaqat quotas for drivers. After entry, an Iqama residence permit costing SAR 650 annually must be issued within 90 days.

No formal education is required for light vehicle driver jobs, but heavy vehicle drivers need a valid Category 3 or 4 Saudi driving license and at least 2 years of experience, per Ministry of Transport rules as of 2026. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and pass a medical fitness test. Saudi nationals get priority under 25% Saudization quota for drivers.

Required documents include a valid passport, attested educational certificates if any, driving license from home country (to be converted), medical report, and police clearance, submitted via employer's Qiwa account as of 2026. The process takes 7-30 days for visa approval costing SAR 2,000 in fees paid by employer. Contract must specify SAR 4,000 minimum for Saudis.
