Security Guard positions in Riyadh

As per the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD), the minimum wage for Saudi nationals in private sector roles including security guards is SAR 4,000 per month as of January 2026. This excludes housing and transport allowances which can add SAR 700-1,000. Overtime pay is 1.5 times the hourly rate for the first two hours and double thereafter.

Foreigners require a work permit (Iqama) sponsored by an employer through Qiwa, costing SAR 2,400 annually for standard category employees like security guards as of 2026. The employer pays all fees, including SAR 650 for issuance and SAR 100 for medical tests. Visa transfer fees are SAR 2,000 if changing sponsors.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, physically fit with a medical certificate, and have no criminal record as per HRSD guidelines effective 2026. No formal education is required, but completion of 40 hours of security training is mandatory for Saudis. Foreigners need prior experience of at least 2 years.

Required documents include a valid Saudi ID or Iqama, updated CV, medical fitness report, and professional training certificate uploaded to Qiwa platform. For Saudis, a National ID and Absher activation are essential. Applications are processed within 5 working days upon employer verification.
