Bus Drivers

As per the Ministry of Manpower, foreign workers in the services sector including drivers must receive a fixed monthly salary of at least S$1,600 as of 2026. Levies start at S$450 per month for non-Malaysians and S$260 for Malaysians. Overtime must be paid at 1.5 times the hourly basic rate, capped at 12 hours per day.

Foreigners aged 18-60 can apply for Work Permits in the transport sector sponsored by employers, with quotas applying. The minimum salary is S$1,600 per month fixed for non-Malaysians as of 2026, and applicants need a medical exam and relevant driving licence. S Pass requires at least S$3,450 monthly salary and 3 years experience.

Applicants must be Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents, aged 30-65, hold a valid Class 3 or 4 driving licence for at least 1 year, and pass a medical exam including visual acuity test. Complete 10 hours of Entry-Level Taxi Driver Training and pass the Taxi Driver Vocational Licence test. No minimum education required.

Required documents include the worker's passport personal particulars page, digital passport-sized colour photo (35mm x 45mm), medical examination report from MOM-approved clinic, and proof of driving licence. For non-Malaysians, security bond of S$5,000 per worker. Submit via WP Online portal; processing takes 3 weeks for new permits.
