Job Description
Signa Opportunity is recruiting unemployed youth for quality workplace experience through the Youth Employment Service (YES) initiative.
About the YES Initiative
The initiative was launched by the President in 2018 and is a partnership with the government and labour department to collectively devise a national plan to build economic pathways for South Africa’s youth by creating workplace opportunities for South African youth over a period of 12 months.

Position: Workshop Cleaner

Stipend: R5 500.00

Location: Boksburg

Workshop Cleaner:
Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised workshop environment. Ensure compliance with the Company's Health & Safety Policy and Procedures, as well as the company’s Safe Work and ISO-related procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, waste disposal, and restroom maintenance, to ensure all areas remain clean and hygienic.
• Comply with all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE and the safe handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Maintain all cleaning tools, materials, and supplies in good working condition, and promptly report any faults, shortages, or maintenance requirements to the Supervisor.
• Interact professionally with staff and visitors while supporting overall site operations and promoting a positive work environment.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised workshop at all times.
• Adhere to the company’s Health & Safety Policy and Procedures, ensuring compliance with Safe Work and ISO-related standards.

Requirements:
• South African Unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34.
• Must not have participated on the YES programme before.
• Matric
• Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, materials, and equipment.
• Exposure to heavy machinery or industrial workspaces (advantageous).

Skills and Competencies:
• Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene standards in an industrial setting.
• Ability to safely handle cleaning equipment (e.g., industrial vacuums, pressure washers).
• Understanding of correct disposal methods for hazardous materials (oil, grease, waste).
• Physical stamina and ability to perform manual tasks.
• Attention to detail to maintain cleanliness in high-use areas.
• Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety regulations.
