Job Description
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Industrial Cleaning Supervisor to oversee and manage all aspects of industrial cleaning operations. This critical on-site role ensures the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and hygiene across all designated facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of industrial cleaning methodologies, equipment, and safety protocols. You will be responsible for leading a team of cleaning technicians, optimizing schedules, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with all company and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:
Supervise, train, and mentor a team of industrial cleaning staff, ensuring high performance and adherence to procedures. Develop and implement effective cleaning schedules and plans tailored to the specific needs of industrial environments. Conduct regular inspections of facilities to ensure cleanliness standards are consistently met and identify areas for improvement. Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, equipment, and chemicals, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper storage. Ensure all cleaning activities are performed in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Operate and maintain specialized industrial cleaning equipment, such as high-pressure washers, industrial vacuums, and floor scrubbers. Respond promptly to cleaning emergencies and address any unscheduled cleaning needs. Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities, staff performance, and inventory. Liaise with facility managers and other stakeholders to coordinate cleaning services and address concerns. Implement and enforce safety training programs for all cleaning personnel. Evaluate and recommend new cleaning technologies and products to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Promote a culture of safety, efficiency, and teamwork within the cleaning department.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in industrial cleaning or a related field, with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity. Solid understanding of cleaning chemicals, their safe handling, and application. Knowledge of industrial cleaning equipment operation and maintenance. Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to cleaning operations. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage and motivate a team effectively. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Proficiency in record-keeping and basic computer skills. Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual tasks as required in an industrial setting. A commitment to maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment. First Aid and relevant safety certifications are a plus. This is a hands-on, on-site position based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal , requiring active participation in daily operations and team leadership.
