Our client, a leading facilities management provider, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Industrial Cleaner and Hygiene Specialist to join their dedicated team in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, ZA . The Senior Specialist will be responsible for executing complex cleaning tasks, developing and implementing hygiene protocols, training junior staff, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate possesses extensive knowledge of industrial cleaning chemicals, equipment, and techniques, along with a strong commitment to meticulous work and occupational safety. You will be instrumental in ensuring that client facilities are not only immaculate but also adhere to stringent hygiene standards required for specialized operations. This position demands physical stamina, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintaining pristine environments.

Responsibilities:
Perform advanced industrial cleaning tasks in diverse settings, including factories, warehouses, and commercial buildings. Operate and maintain specialized cleaning equipment, such as industrial vacuums, pressure washers, and floor scrubbers. Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive cleaning and hygiene programs. Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies. Train and supervise junior cleaning staff on proper cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and the use of equipment. Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper storage. Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify cleaning needs and potential hazards. Respond promptly to urgent cleaning requests and emergencies. Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities, inspections, and staff training. Implement waste management and recycling protocols. Ensure that all cleaning chemicals are used and stored safely and effectively. Liaise with site managers and clients to address specific cleaning requirements and concerns. Promote a culture of safety and excellence in all cleaning operations. Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and new cleaning technologies. Contribute to the continuous improvement of cleaning services and operational efficiency. Qualifications:
Proven experience as an industrial cleaner or in a similar role, with a minimum of 7 years of experience. At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity within the cleaning industry. Comprehensive knowledge of industrial cleaning chemicals, equipment, and best practices. Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations (e.g., OSHA standards). Experience in developing and implementing hygiene protocols. Ability to operate and maintain a wide range of industrial cleaning machinery. Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness. Strong organizational and time management skills. Effective communication and training abilities. Physical stamina and the ability to perform demanding tasks. A valid driver's license and the ability to work flexible hours. First Aid certification is advantageous.
