SUMMARY:

The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment, in accordance with the relevant codes, safety standards, and company requirements. They ensure that all work is performed efficiently and safely, to maintain uninterrupted operation.

POSITION INFO:

Duties:
• Install, test, and commission electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures, in compliance with regulations.
• Inspect electrical components, such as circuit breakers, transformers, and switchboards.
• Diagnose electrical faults and carry out repairs on industrial, commercial, or domestic systems.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
• Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and company's safety policies.
• Maintain accurate records of all electrical work performed.
• Collaborate with other trades and departments to support site operation or project completion.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Grade 12 / Matric.
• Trade Test Certificate (Electrician) – recognised by the Department of Labour.
• Valid Wireman’s Licence (advantageous).
• Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in industrial, commercial, or construction environments.
• Knowledge of single-phase and three-phase systems.
• Strong understanding of electrical codes and safety procedures.
