As an Apprentice Electrician, you will assist qualified electricians with a wide range of tasks, including the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring, fixtures, and systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. You will be exposed to various aspects of the trade, learning about electrical codes, safety procedures, and the use of tools and equipment. This role requires a commitment to learning, a willingness to follow instructions, and the ability to work safely and effectively as part of a team. Successful completion of this apprenticeship program will lead to qualification as a certified electrician.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist journeyman electricians with the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems. Learn and adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including lockout/tagout protocols. Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams. Pull electrical wires and cables through conduits and raceways. Install electrical components such as outlets, switches, light fixtures, and circuit breakers. Connect wiring to electrical systems and components. Perform basic maintenance on electrical equipment and tools. Assist with inspections and testing of electrical systems. Maintain a clean and organized worksite. Operate company vehicles safely to travel to job sites. Participate actively in all required training sessions and coursework. Demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills and take on increasing responsibility. Follow verbal and written instructions from supervising electricians. Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification. Strong interest in pursuing a career as an electrician. Good mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity. Basic understanding of mathematics and physics principles. Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, as required. Willingness to commit to a formal apprenticeship program, including theoretical studies and on-the-job training. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical stamina to perform manual labor. Valid driver's license is advantageous. No prior electrical experience is required; a willingness to learn is key.
