Introduction

Penbro Kelnick Pty Ltd, part of a large international industrial group, is a specialised engineering and manufacturing company based in Hermanstad, Pretoria West.

We have a permanent position for an Welding Inspector/Deputy Welding Coordinator in the SHERQ Department. If you believe you meet the requirements for this position, then we would appreciate your application.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Inspect weldments to determine if they meet specifications and standards.
• Conduct dimensional checks after fit-up.
• Conduct checks at intervals during welding, as well as dimensional checks to identify distortion.
• Conduct VT and PT inspections.
• Management of external inspection services.
• Document all inspections, computations, results, and feedback provided.
• Validation of welding equipment.
• Participation in technical reviews and audits.
• Support the RWC in maintaining ISO 3834 & EN 15085
• Incoming inspection of materials and consumables.
• Validate welding materials and consumables against certificates and requirements.

Desired Experience & Qualification
• Welding coordinator with basic technical knowledge (Level C) IWS (International Welding Specialist) required.
• Reading and interpretation of engineering & welding drawings.
• Welding specifications and standards
• Quality Management experience
• ISO 9712 Level 2 NDT qualification for VT & PT will be advantageous.
• A welding or engineering background will be of advantage.
• Good eyesight is a requirement for VT (Visual Testing).
• Supervision and technical planning
