Responsibilities for CBSA Security Guard
β€’ Ensure the safety and security of individuals, property, and assets within the CBSA airport facility
β€’ Escort detainees within the premises using restraints when required
β€’ Demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and composure when interacting with individuals under stress
β€’ Observe, monitor, and report detainee behaviour and safety concerns
β€’ Conduct regular indoor and outdoor foot patrols
β€’ Perform frequent wellness and safety checks
β€’ Operate security systems, software, and equipment effectively
β€’ Respond promptly to emergency situations using tactical communication and de-escalation techniques
β€’ Complete clear, accurate incident and daily activity reports

Qualifications for CBSA Security Guard
β€’ Valid Ontario Security Guard License
β€’ Valid First Aid and CPR certification
β€’ Advanced Security Training (AST) – considered an asset
β€’ Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident with a minimum of 5 years residency in Canada
β€’ High school diploma or equivalent (proof required)
β€’ Ability to successfully obtain Public Works Clearance and Vulnerable Sector Check
β€’ Minimum 1 year of experience in a tactical security role
β€’ Strong ability to remain calm, decisive, and professional in high-pressure environments
β€’ Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
