Q What work visa is required for non-US citizens to work as security guards in 2026?

H-1B visas do not apply as the role lacks specialty occupation requirements. Employer sponsorship for EB-3 green cards takes 12-24 months processing.

As per the Bureau of Labor Statistics, no formal postsecondary education is required, but a high school diploma or GED is preferred for 70% of positions. Zero prior experience is needed for entry-level roles, with 1 month of on-the-job training standard. Some states mandate 8-16 hours of pre-employment classroom training.
Q What documents are required to apply for security guard jobs in the US?
As per the U.S. Department of Labor, required documents include a Social Security card, government-issued photo ID, resume highlighting any customer service experience, and proof of high school diploma.
