Job Description
Position: Security Guard PRN Department: Facilities

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Supervised by: Security Officer Supervisor

Employment Status: PRN Shift: As needed

Summary: The security guard will patrol premises, monitor surveillance systems, enforce access control and security protocols, respond to incidents and emergencies, document activities, and maintain a safe environment for people and property.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Monitoring and Observation:
• Conduct routine patrols on foot to inspect the premises, buildings, and perimeter.
• Monitor security camera footage and other surveillance systems for suspicious activities.
• Identify and report any suspicious behaviors, individuals, or occurrences on the property.
• Access and Control:
• Monitor and authorize the entrance and exit of clients, personnel, visitors, and vehicles.
• Screen visitors, verify identification, and maintain visitor logs as required.
• Ensure all doors, windows, and other entry points are secure.
• Emergency Response and Assistance:
• Respond promptly to alarms, distress calls, and other security concerns.
• React in a timely manner to emergencies and take necessary actions to ensure the safety of people and property.
• Aid individuals in need, direct visitors, and offer general support.
• Reporting and Documenting:
• Prepare detailed reports of daily activities, incidents, suspicious actions, and violations of policies.
• Maintain an accurate log of activities, security issues, and events occurring on the premises.
• Communicate clearly with leadership, law enforcement, and other emergency services when necessary.
• Policy Enforcement:
• Enforce company security policies, building rules, and relevant legal protocols.
• Act as a viable deterrent to prevent theft, vandalism, and other criminal or unauthorized activities.
