Job Description
Silliman Group, LLC is the design and construction arm of a fast growing real estate property management, development, and investment company.

It's an exciting time to join our group at Silliman! We're adding to our in-house construction team for apartment renovations and rehabs, along with keeping units to regulations and code.

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position. The pay rate is $40/hour.

An integral part of the team will be our new Licensed Plumber - they will be responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining pipes, fixtures and other plumbing used for water distribution and waste water disposal in residential and commercial buildings.

The Licensed Plumber must be able to read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks and waste and drainage systems. They will then plan, install and service plumbing systems, fixtures, piping equipment and controls. These piping systems may be used to transport water, waste, gases or hot liquids. The Plumber works in cooperation with other Service Tech II’s and contractors to ensure that all specifications and policies are met, and to ensure efficient completion of all plumbing work order tickets or projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Locate and mark positions for connections and fixtures
• Install supports and hangers for pipe, fixtures and equipment, assemble and install valves and fittings
• Install, repair and maintain water treatment equipment, piping and controls, underground storm sanitary and water piping systems, sinks/tubs/toilets, water heaters, and conditioners
• Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported
• and graded
• Test pipe systems and fixtures for leaks
• Maintain all building codes and installation requirements to relevant legislation and environmental guidelines to all repairs and maintenance
• Perform scheduled maintenance service on plumbing systems and fixtures
• Prepare orders of supplies and keep daily reports in electronic work order system
• On call is required for plumbing emergencies (on-call and travel pay is provided, accordingly)
• Perform other related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
• City of Chicago Plumbing License REQUIRED
• 5-10 years’ plumbing experience.
• Valid driver's license and vehicle to travel between properties is required - mileage reimbursement is paid
• Ability to frequently use general maintenance tools, supplies and equipment such as, but not limited to, hand tools, ladders, and safety equipment.
• Ability to frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and climb (stairs, ladders, etc.)
