Schedule: Part-Time (25 hours/week guaranteed w/ additional hours as needed/required; Monday – Friday)

Compensation: $30.00–$35.00/hour

About the Position:

A professional couple, both of whom are busy executives living and working in downtown Chicago seek an experienced Housekeeper/Household Assistant to help maintain their home and support daily household needs. This individual will be responsible for the overall cleanliness, organization, and management of the residence. The right candidate will possess strong attention to detail, excellent judgment, and the ability to anticipate household needs with minimal direction while maintaining the utmost discretion.

The Household:

The residence is a 2200 square foot high-rise condo in Chicago’s Gold Coast with one small, Cockapoo (non-shedding) dog who is as sweet as can be. The home has a structured, yet calm and cozy atmosphere with a strong emphasis on organization, efficiency, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities: The below represents a comprehensive and detailed overview of all potential responsibilities. Not all responsibilities are required each week. Housekeeping, daily maintenance/reset, dog care, laundry, and meal prep are the most common weekly reoccurring responsibilities

Housekeeping & Deep Cleaning
• Maintain Cleaning Schedule: Perform thorough and meticulous deep cleaning of all rooms on a schedule vacuuming, mopping, dusting, bathroom(s) (showers, tubs, sinks, toilets, and surface cleaning.
• Daily Maintenance: Constant “upkeep” of the home’s flow—straightening rugs, fluffing pillows, and ensuring all items are returned to their designated places. Lead periodic clean-outs of cabinets and closets. High-traffic areas (entry way, kitchen, primary bath, den) must be reset daily.
• Kitchen Detail: Daily cleaning of countertops and backsplash; periodic deep cleaning of the stove, oven, and microwave. Regular “clean and purge” of the refrigerator and freezer (checking expiration dates and wiping shelves).
• Bathroom: Sanitize all fixtures, polish mirrors, toilets, showers, and ensure glass shower doors are free of water spots.
• Dusting & Polishing: Detailed dusting of all baseboards, light fixtures, and vents. Periodic polishing of silverware and delicate crystal or glassware.
• Organizational Projects: Constant “upkeep” of the home’s flow—straightening rugs, fluffing pillows, and ensuring all items are returned to their designated places. Lead periodic clean-outs of cabinets and closets.

Laundry & Wardrobe Management:
• Manage laundry, folding, ironing, and changing linens
• Full Cycle Laundry: Wash, dry, fold, and put away all clothing.
• Iron/Steam: delicate garments, linens, and bed sheets.
• Linens: Weekly rotation of master bedroom bed sheets and towels; ensuring guest rooms are staged and fresh, when needed
• Dry Cleaning: Take, pick-up, and put away

Household Management & Vendor Oversight
• Maintenance: Proactively identify and address issues (e.g., spotting a water stain, noticing a flickering bulb). Coordinate with vendors (HVAC, plumbers, painters) for quotes and repairs.
• Small Appliance Upkeep: Change water filters and batteries; ensure all appliances are in good working order. Assist with light household maintenance (cleaning humidifiers, replacing small filters)
• Purge & Declutter: Lead seasonal “clean and purge” projects for the kitchen cabinets, refrigerator, and storage areas to ensure no expired or unused items accumulate.
• Project Management: Oversee specialized organizational projects such as labeling storage bins, digitalizing home inventories, or streamlining household systems.

Meal Prep, Groceries, Errands:
• Prepare dinner as needed and grab-and-go breakfasts/lunches, snacks also as needed
• Maintain a running list of groceries and household supplies; restocking as needed
• Perform grocery shopping, pharmacy runs, and other errands as needed

Dog Care & Love:
• Care for adorable cockapoo, walks, exercise, play, and other occasional pup care needs.
• Occasional vet visits
• Dog walking 2x daily
• Cleaning and filling dog bowls; monitoring pet food and treat inventory.

Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3-5 years of professional housekeeping experience in a private home
• Approaches their role with a sense of pride and strong attention to detail
• Organized and proactive — anticipates needs before being asked
• Communicates clearly, consistently follows instructions, and proactively asks clarifying questions, as needed
• Oversees deliveries, packages, and returns.
• Maintain discretion with personal and confidential information.
• Provide flexible support for personal or administrative needs
• Reliable, trustworthy, and discreet
• Must love dogs!
• Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle (mileage reimbursed and driving will be minimal). Onsite parking available at no cost
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Compensation & Benefits:
• $30.00–$35.00/hour (gross pay)
• 2 weeks paid vacation (50 hours)
• 5 paid sick days (25 hours)
• 10 Paid holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving & Day After Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, One Floating Holiday
