Description

A packaging operator is a professional who works in manufacturing or industrial settings, operating and monitoring machinery to produce goods. They are responsible for setting up, adjusting, maintaining, and troubleshooting the equipment to ensure efficient and safe production and must have the ability to work in a safe manner, follow safety guidelines.

Understand and follow Food Safety policies.

Must be willing to work flexible schedules and work in other departments including weekends and holidays

Ability to read and understand recipes.

Ability to troubleshoot process related issues within the boundaries of the recipe

Ability to use digital scales and have a working knowledge of scale functions.

Ability to mix doughs according to recipe. Have a working knowledge of the mixer, using the time and batch recipe system

Follow FIFO (First in First Out), Mix lot number and documentation accuracy.

Clean & Refill ingredient bins and label the bins with the correct lot number.

Ability to work in a standing position for entire shift and climb steps and ladders.

Monitors and assists with equipment upstream/downstream to ensure continuous operation.

Ability to clean mixers, work areas properly during and after production runs or changeovers

Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area

Observe all plant safety, GMP and allergen procedures and attend appropriate training sessions

Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP and SQF requirements

Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to your supervisor

Follow supervisor's directives and be able to support the shift team as needed

Third shift hours are generally from 11:00PM-7:00AM, starting Monday night.

This position works in a manufacturing facility and requires standing, bending, climbing or walking 80% of the time
