Coiled Tubes Services Welder - Houston, TX

LOCATION: Houston - Texas - USA

DEPARTMENT: INDUSTRIAL OPERATIONS

We are looking for a skilled Welder to cut and join metals at our facility. This person will operate appropriate equipment to put together mechanical structures, or parts, with a great deal of precision. A welder must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions. The ideal candidate will have a steady hand and great attention to detail. Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties is essential.

Responsibilities
• Executes Big Wheel Set up and stabbing.
• Change and controls machine tools and consumables ensuring their availability - Performs machine operation.
• Performs Tig and PAW (plasma arc welding) to join strips, including tapered wall thickness.
• Monitors welding variables (Speed, heat input,ect.)
• Performs grinding and weld finishing to x-ray quality to prepare strip for milling.
• Reports production stoppages.
• Assists machine lock outs and tag outs and does operative maintenance.
• Updates information in the tracking systems.
• Complete and update all applicable records ensuring information accuracy.
• Ensure proper use of the company assets, detecting and reporting malfunctioning.
• Proactively suggest improvements and participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Maintain a clean and ordered workplace.

Schedule: This position will be required to work on a rotating shift.
