Job Description
Job Title: Vessel WelderJob Description

We are seeking skilled vessel welders to join our team. You will be responsible for welding on storage tanks, spheres, and water towers, ranging from 23ft to 43ft. The primary welding techniques used include stick and flux core, with occasional use of MIG welding. You will be working on carbon steel up to 3 inches thick, and knowledge of back gouging is essential as these are 100% X-ray welds.
Responsibilities
• Perform welding on storage tanks, spheres, and water towers.
• Utilize stick and flux core welding techniques, with some MIG welding.
• Work with carbon steel materials up to 3 inches thick.
• Execute back gouging for 100% X-ray welds.
• Operate overhead cranes as required.
Essential Skills
• 3+ years of experience as a vessel welder.
• Ability to pass 2G and 3G weld tests.
• Proficiency in flux core and stick welding.
• Capability to perform back gouging.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience with vessel components and fabrication.
• Any fitting experience is a plus.
• Ability to read prints and isometric drawings.
• Experience fabricating storage tanks, vessels, and towers.
• Ability to do own layouts and fit-ups.
• Willingness to learn pipe fitting if not already experienced.

Work Environment

The work environment is a large, non-climate-controlled shop with a significant amount of heavy equipment. Safety is a top priority here. The position starts on a day shift, working from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with Saturdays as needed. After six months, there is a rotation to a night shift from 4:15 p.m. to 2:45 a.m., Monday through Friday, with a $2.00 shift differential during night shifts. The rotation back to day shifts occurs every six months.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.50 - $30.00/hr.
